More informations about OpenCV can be found at: this address.

According to the OpenCV github repository, the preffered way how to cite the OpenCV is:

Citation in APA style

Citation in Vancouver style

Citation in Harvard style

Citation in Bibtex format

@article{opencv_library,
    author = {Bradski, G.},
    citeulike-article-id = {2236121},
    journal = {Dr. Dobb's Journal of Software Tools},
    keywords = {bibtex-import},
    posted-at = {2008-01-15 19:21:54},
    priority = {4},
    title = {{The OpenCV Library}},
    year = {2000}
}

However, because the OpenCV is a software, there is multiple other quite correct ways how to cite it - depending on the context. The most straight forward way how to cite it as a software is miscellaneous item:

Citation in APA style

Citation in Vancouver style

Citation in Harvard style

Citation in Bibtex format

@misc{2015opencv,
    title={Open Source Computer Vision Library},
    author={OpenCV},
    year={2015},
}

Another option is cite the OpenCV reference manual. The reference manuals can be found at - https://docs.opencv.org/. For example the citation of edition 2.4.13.7:

Citation in APA style

Citation in Vancouver style

Citation in Harvard style

Citation in Bibtex format

@manual{2014opencv,
    title = {The OpenCV Reference Manual},
    organization = {OpenCV},
    edition = {2.4.13.7},
    month = {April},
    year = {2014},
    notes = {See \url{http://docs.opencv.org/}}
}

In some context, the standard well known book about OpenCV could even be the option how to cite it:

Citation in APA style

Citation in Vancouver style

Citation in Harvard style

Citation in Bibtex format

@book{bradski2008learning,
  title={Learning OpenCV: Computer vision with the OpenCV library},
  author={Bradski, Gary and Kaehler, Adrian},
  year={2008},
  publisher={" O'Reilly Media, Inc."}
}
